Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the Evertel/Connect software application (“Application”) for mobile devices, desktop computers, and Internet browsers that was created by Genasys Inc. and explains how Genasys (“Genasys”, or “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal information that we collect.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?


User-Provided Information

The Application obtains the information you provide when you download and register the Application. The full list of information collected at registration includes:

First name, Last name, Email, Department, Badge or Serial Number, Position (Rank), Assignment, Date of Started Service, Photograph(s).

By using one of the Application contact functions the User authorizes this Application to use submitted and gathered details to reply to requests for information, quotes, or any other kind of request as indicated by the contact function’s header. For more information on what types of data please refer to the 3rd party service used for this, Instabug, Privacy Policy.

We may also use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices, and marketing information.

 

Automatically Collected Information

Among the types of Personal Data that this Application collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: Cookies, Usage Data, email address and various types of Data.

Other Personal Data collected may be described in other sections of this privacy policy or by dedicated explanation text contextually with the Data collection

The Personal Data may be freely provided by the User or collected automatically when using this Application.

Any use of Cookies – or of other tracking tools – by this Application or by the owners of third-party services used by this Application, unless stated otherwise, serves to identify Users and remember their preferences, for the sole purpose of providing the service required by the User.

Failure to provide certain Personal Data may make it impossible for this Application to provide its services.

Users are responsible for any Personal Data of third parties obtained, published, or shared through this Application and confirm that they have the third party’s consent to provide the Data to the Owner.

In particular, this Application uses Firebase and Google Analytics for analytics, Instabug for infrastructure monitoring, and Amazon Web Services for back-end infrastructure purposes.

The analytics services enable the Application to monitor and analyze mobile traffic and can be used to keep track of User behavior.  Firebase and Google Analytics is an analytics service provided by Google, Inc.  Personal data collected: Cookies, User ID, Usage data, Push & E-mail contact data. Place of processing: US – Privacy Policy.

The infrastructure monitoring service allows this Application to monitor the use and behavior of its components so its performance, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting can be improved. Which Personal Data are processed depends on the characteristics and mode of implementation of these services, whose function is to filter the activities of this Application. Instabug is a monitoring service provided by Instabug, Inc. Personal data collected: various types of Data as specified in the privacy policy of the service. Place of processing: US – Privacy Policy.

The infrastructure back-end service allows this Application to function by performing a variety of key technical functions including connecting the device clients to servers, ensuring the servers are properly configured, and processing data correctly, amongst other functions. Amazon Web Services, Inc. is a web infrastructure company and a subsidiary of Amazon.com Inc.  Personal Data collected: none, it processes and stores data collected from other services or programs. Place of processing: US – Privacy Policy.

 

Does the Application collect precise real-time location information of the device?

This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to help us improve the Application and our service. We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement. For operation and maintenance purposes, this Application and any third-party services may collect files that record interaction with this Application (System logs) or use for this purpose other Personal Data (such as IP Address).

We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • with our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
  • if Genasys, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Website of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.

What are my opt-out rights?

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. You can also request to opt-out via email, at support@getevertel.com If we are unable to comply with your request we will let you know in that e-mail exchange. You will always have the right and ability to uninstall the application.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

We will retain User-Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain Automatically Collected information for up to 24 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate. If you’d like us to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact us at support@getevertel.com and we will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of the User-Provided Data may be required in order for the Application to function properly.

 

Children

We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at support@getevertel.com.  We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.

 

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Organization-Administered Accounts

Where the Service is provided to you through your employer or another organization, please note that your organization’s administrator may be able to:

  • require you to reset your account password;

  • restrict, suspend or terminate your access to the Service;

  • access and retain information in and about your account;

  • access or retain information stored as part of your account;

  • change the email address associated with your account;

  • change your information, including profile information; and

  • restrict your ability to edit, restrict, modify or delete information.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here and informing you via email or push notification. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

 

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. “Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/handheld device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining, and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in the United States. If you reside outside the United States your information will be transferred, processed, and stored there under United States privacy standards.
